FAQ / PAYMENT

Q. ARE ONLINE PAYMENT SECURE?

Online payments are processed securely by Stripe. Mastercard and Visa are accepted. EQUIP does not store or have access to your credit card details.

 

Q. HOW WILL I GET CONFIRMATION OF MY TICKET?

You will receive an instant confirmation email from us upon completion of your registration. Tickets will be emailed to you in the week beginning 7 May. Please check your email prior to the conference, and ensure that you print your ticket and bring it with you on 19 May.

 

Q. CAN I DO A MANUAL REGISTRATION?

Please email us or call (02) 8006 4636 for manual registration and / or cheque payment if you are unable to register online with your credit card. A $5 administration fee will apply.

 

Q. WHAT IS YOUR REFUND POLICY?

We do not offer refunds on tickets already purchased to EQUIP18 or EQUIP teens at Darling Harbour. If you are no longer able to attend, you may transfer your ticket to another woman at no further cost. You can do this using the Modify Registration link in your confirmation email and updating the details previously provided. A new confirmation email will not be sent, but a ticket will be emailed to the new registrant in the week beginning 7 May.

 We will refund live stream registrations minus a $15 administration fee if we are advised of the cancellation prior to 7 May.

 

Q. WHERE DOES MY TICKET MONEY GO?

Equip Inc. is a not-for-profit organisation run by volunteers.  Every year, we offer the lowest ticket price possible for our conferences.  Our prices are set using quoted costs and the anticipated number of delegates. Any incidental profit is used for the ministry of EQUIP.  
In 2014, 94% of income generated by ticket sales went towards the conference running costs, for example: venue hire, audio-visual, catering and printing. 4% went towards general business running expenses such as public liability insurance. 2% was given as a donation to Overcomers Outreach, in line with our promise to give $1 from each ticket to their valuable addictions ministry.

 

Q. Can I receive a discounted ticket?

Yes, thanks to our hard working treasurer and lots of generous givers, we offer both subsidised tickets and discounted large group tickets.

  1. Groups of 10+ (available until 7 May): $69 Groups can be made up of both EQUIP daylight and EQUIP twilight delegates.
  2. Full-time students (available until 7 May): $69
  3. Help a Sister: We offer 100 subsided tickets at only $35 to women experiencing financial hardship. These women would otherwise not be able to join us. To request a subsidised ticket, please contact us. If you can help subsidise a ticket, you can select this option during registration.

 

FAQ / REGISTRATION

Q. What is the equip combo ticket?

We want to make it as easy as possible for women to attend EQUIP with their daughters. That's why we're offering an EQUIP combo ticket! The combo includes one ticket to EQUIP twilight plus one ticket to EQUIP teens. At $115, that represents a saving of $19 on our standard ticket prices. The EQUIP combo ticket is available until May 15. It cannot be purchased as part of an EQUIP women group booking.
 

Q. HOW DO I MAKE MY PAYMENT?

Online payments are processed securely by Stripe. Mastercard and Visa are accepted. EQUIP does not store or have access to your credit card details. Simply enter your credit card details on the payment page of the registration process and click the "Make Payment" button. Please note that your registration will not be complete until payment is made.

 

Q. I’M NOT SURE IF MY PAYMENT WENT THROUGH.

You should have received a confirmation email from EQUIP women. You can confirm your balance owing by clicking the invoice link in your confirmation email. If money is still owing, go to the Modify Your Registration link in your confirmation email and complete the payment process. Your invoice will now show a $0 balance.

 

Q. I'VE LOST MY TICKET - WHAT SHOULD I DO?

Your ticket will be emailed to you in the week beginning 7 May. Please re-print it and bring it on the day. If you have not received a ticket by Monday 14 May, please email us.

 

Q. CAN I SHOW MY TICKET ON MY PHONE INSTEAD OF PRINTING IT?

Yes, we will allow entry with an electronic copy of your ticket. As your ticket doubles as your name tag, you are welcome to pop by the enquiries desk on conference day to collect a spare physical ticket.

Q. WHAT OPTIONS ARE THERE FOR LUNCH (daylight) AND DINNER (twilight)?

Light refreshments only are provided. Daylight delegates are invited to BYO lunch to enjoy by the Harbour or to purchase lunch from a nearby cafe or food court. Twilight delegates may wish to make the most of their time in the city, and head out for dinner at the conclusion of the conference (8:15pm).

 

Q. WHAT IS A GROUP ORGANISER?

Group Organisers promote the EQUIP conference to groups of women such as  their friends, bible study group, church and at their work. We post packets to our Group Organisers several months before the conference with extra postcards and any additional promotional materials available that year. Through personal invitation, word of mouth and the help of our Group Organisers, EQUIP women has grown to over 3000 women attending each year!

 

Q. WHAT WILL MY CONTACT DETAILS BE USED FOR?

EQUIP collects personal information about you for the purposes of administering our events. We will use it to contact you in relation to events you are attending, and to occasionally inform you of future events that we believe you might be interested in. Should you receive a marketing email and find that you no longer want to receive this type of contact, you will have the option to ‘unsubscribe’ from future mailings. EQUIP will not pass your personal information on to any third party, except as necessary for the administration of our events.
 
Both video and still photography is taken at EQUIP conferences for future marketing purposes, and images of delegates may be used in marketing material such as our website and brochures. EQUIP18 will be live streamed to remote delegates and crowd shots of the conference will be included. If you do not wish to appear on advertising material, please contact us at enquiries@equip.org.au and let us know.

 

FAQ / PROGRAM

Q. WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN EQUIP DAYLIGHT AND EQUIP TWILIGHT?

The two conferences are made up of identical sessions, just at different times. EQUIP daylight includes pre-conference refreshments and an extended lunch break: plenty of time to catch up with friends! EQUIP twilight packs the same sessions into an express time-frame. There will be a brief refreshment break between the sessions. Head straight home afterwards or stay on for dinner in the city to make a night of it. Choose the options that best suits you!

EQUIP daylight (10am – 3pm). Pre-conference refreshments from 9am. AUSLAN interpretation available.

EQUIP twilight (4pm – 8:15pm). Refreshments provided between sessions one and two. Runs concurrent with EQUIP teens.

 

Q. IS THERE AN AUSLAN INTERPRETER?

We provide accredited AUSLAN interpreters during the daylight session. Please let us know at the time of registration if you require an AUSLAN interpreter.

 

FAQ / VENUE

Q. WHERE IS international convention centre?

ICC is located in the heart of Darling Harbour on the site of the old Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre. EQUIP17 will be held in the Darling Harbour Theatre at ICC.

 

Q. WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO GET THERE?

ICC is accessible by light rail, ferry and train, and is only a ten-minute walk from Central and Town Hall stations. Secure parking is also available within the Darling Harbour precinct. Click here for more information.
 

Q. WHERE CAN I PARK?

Parking is available within the Darling Harbour precinct. Click here for more information about ICC parking and here or here for more information about other parking options. We recommend pre-booking your parking where possible. There's some good deals at Wilsons Parking ($10.50/$12.50).
 

Q. WHERE SHOULD MY TAXI DROP OFF?

There is a taxi drop-off and pick-up point right outside the entry to ICC. It is behind the shopping centre and can be accessed via Darling Drive.
 

Q. WHAT FACILITIES ARE AVAILABLE FOR MUMS AND BUBS?

Mothers who are nursing babies are very welcome to bring them to EQUIP. A Mums and Bubs room with video linkage to the main conference will be available on the same level as the auditorium. Prams are not able to be taken into the auditorium, so we suggest you bring a baby carrier should you wish to bring your baby into the auditorium. Our team of friendly ushers will direct you to the best place to sit with your baby, and assist you in accessing the Mums and Bubs room. There is room for prams in the mums and bubs room. Please let us know at the time of registration if you will be bringing your baby to the conference.

 

Q. ARE THERE CHILDCARE FACILITIES FOR OLDER CHILDREN?

Unfortunately, we do not have facilities to be able to care for toddlers or older children. However, nursing babies are very welcome, with special facilities for Mums with Bubs.

 

Q. WHAT IF I HAVE SPECIAL ACCESS REQUIREMENTS?

We make every effort to provide assistance for those with disability requirements. We have accredited AUSLAN Interpreters during the daylight session. If you require other disability assistance please specify this at time of registration, or email us at enquiries@equip.org.au after registering to advise us of your needs and we’ll be only too glad to help.

 

FAQ / TEENS

Q. What is the equip combo ticket?

If you have more than one daughter attending EQUIP teens, you will need to purchase one EQUIP combo and one additional teens ticket.

 

Q. WHAT food is provided AT EQUIP TEENS?

Light refreshments are included in the teens' ticket price. We are able to cater for gluten free and / or vegetarian diets, but are unable to accommodate other dietary needs. While we have selected a nut-free menu for the teens conference, the kitchen itself is not nut-free and so we cannot guarantee that the food provided will be free from nuts or other allergens. If you have any concerns, you are encouraged to bring your own food.

 

Q. WILL YOU BE RUNNING EQUIP TEENS DURING THE DAYLIGHT SESSION?

While we understand that many teenagers have sporting and other commitments on Saturday afternoons, we are unable to run two teen conferences.

 

Q. CAN I BE THE ONSITE EMERGENCY CONTACT FOR MORE THAN ONE TEEN?

Yes, that is fine. You can be the contact for any number of teen delegates, as long as you are present at the EQUIP twilight conference.

 

Q. ARE YOUTH LEADERS ABLE TO ATTEND EQUIP TEENS?

Female youth leaders who want to accompany their Year 7-11 girls are able to register for EQUIP teens. They also have the option of registering for EQUIP twilight where they will hear talks on the same topics from the same Bible passage. We have timed the conferences so that it will be easy to drop off teens and then attend EQUIP twilight. The girls will be looked after by our fully trained EQUIP leaders for the duration of EQUIP teens. Any Youth Leaders who register for EQUIP teens will be allocated to a special discussion group just for accompanying leaders.

 

Q. CAN I ATTEND EQUIP TEENS WITH MY DAUGHTER?

We are not encouraging mums to attend EQUIP teens, but rather to attend the EQUIP twilight conference where you will hear talks on the same topic and Bible passages as your daughter. This is the best way to equip yourself for those important post-conference discussions. The talks at EQUIP teens are age appropriate and our leaders are trained and experienced in youth ministry. Our aim is to provide your daughter with age appropriate teaching and guided discussion among her peers. EQUIP teens will be recorded and available for order at the conference.

 

Q. HOW WILL DISCUSSION GROUPS BE FORMED?

The online registration form allows you to name the group that you are attending with and / or to name one friend whose group you would like to be in. We will do our best to accommodate these requests, and if no request is made, we will group delegates according to year at school.

 

FAQ / LIVE STREAM

Q. WHAT DO I NEED TO DO BEFORE I REGISTER FOR EQUIP LIVE STREAM?

PLEASE follow the instructions on the Tech Support page to test your internet speed at the location/venue where you will be watching EQUIP17 on 19 May. If the broadband is not fast enough on your end, you will not be able to view the live stream successfully and we will not be able to do anything to help you.
 

Q. CAN EQUIP BE LIVE STREAMED ON MY IPHONE, IPAD OR ANDROID DEVICE?

Yes. The information that you need is on the Tech Support page. You will need to also make sure that your mobile device will have sufficient internet download speed to view the live stream successfully.

You should test a live stream before the day of EQUIP and also check your data plan on your mobile device, so that you don't get charged extra data usage after streaming the conference for hours.
 

Q. HOW MUCH DATA WILL I USE TO STREAM THE ENTIRE CONFERENCE?

USTREAM TV uses variable bitrate based on your connection and the quality level of video you select. If you have a very fast internet connection and choose to watch HD quality video, you could use as much as 10GBs to watch the entire 6 hour conference.  However, you may use as little as 3GBs to live stream the conference if you select to view a lower quality video stream.

It is very important to check your broadband Bandwidth caps or data plan on your mobile device in advance, so that you do not get charged extra data usage or your connection is slowed down while you are watching the live stream.

Your ISP may allow you to temporarily increase your data plan but, you will need to contact them well before conference day.  Or risk possibly getting an overage charge.
 

Q. WILL I RECEIVE THE CONFERENCE BOOKLET?

A pdf of the booklet will be emailed to you one week before the conference.  We will also put this on our website for download.  Feel free to print off as many copies as you require.

If you would like to save on printing costs, you can just print the notes pages for the talks.
 

Q. WILL BOTH DAYLIGHT AND TWILIGHT CONFERENCES BE LIVE STREAMED?

Yes, you will be able to view either time slot as we start streaming in the morning before the conference begins, approximately 30 minutes before and live stream until we finish the Twilight conference scheduled to end at 8:15pm. However, we do ask that you indicate which conference you intend to view at time of registration.
 

Q. DO I HAVE TO REGISTER EACH INDIVIDUAL IN MY GROUP?

No, just the group organiser for the group needs to register for the size group that will be viewing on 19 May.
 

Q. I HAVE SEPARATE GROUPS FROM MY CHURCH INTERESTED IN MEETING AT DIFFERENT VENUES FOR LIVE STREAMING.  SHOULD I REGISTER AS ONE CHURCH GROUP?

Each group meeting at different venues will need to register separately.
 

Q. AFTER I’VE REGISTERED, can i make additions IF NUMBERS IN MY GROUP INCREASE?

Yes, you can manage any changes to your registrations online and make additional payments.
 

Q. CAN I REGISTER MY GROUP NOW EVEN THOUGH MY FINAL NUMBERS MIGHT CHANGE?

Yes. We suggest that you make an initial estimate of the size of your group.  If numbers subsequently increase, please modify your registration online and pay the balance.


q. What is your refund policy?

Q. THE VIDEO LOOKS "CHOPPY," I AM EXPERIENCING "LAG", OR THE VIDEO IS "PAUSING" OR "STOPPING AND GOING."  HOW DO I FIX THIS?

There are many possible causes of this. The most common is insufficient bandwidth on your computer or mobile. To test what your bandwidth is, click here then click "Los Angeles".

We recommend having a minimum download speed of at least 2Mbps for smooth live stream playback.  Also read question above about how much data is used to stream the entire conference.

We have incredibly fast upload speeds at ICC, but if the internet speed is not sufficient on your end, there is nothing we can do to fix this for you.
 

Q. MY VIDEO QUALITY WAS POOR ON CONFERENCE DAY. CAN I GET A REFUND?

We have incredibly fast upload speeds at ICC and are constantly monitoring the quality of our EQUIP live stream.  We are unable to offer refunds if the internet speed or audiovisual or computer set-up was insufficient at your end.

In the unlikely event of technical difficulties at our end, we will contact our live stream delegates to come to a suitable arrangement.
 

Q. I DON'T LIVE IN AUSTRALIA. CAN I STILL STREAM EQUIP?

Registration for EQUIP live stream is open to Australian and New Zealand residents. Unfortunately, music licensing restrictions prevent live streaming outside of Australia and New Zealand. If you have any questions about this, please contact us at livestream@equip.org.au.
