The World Next Door | Rory Shiner and Peter Orr

This book is a helpful tool to share with others you want to communicate the gospel to. The explanations are clear and not full of jargon, but also invite the reader to respond to what they have read.

Do you have family or friends who are not believers yet?  Do you wonder how you might share what you believe with them? Do you greatly desire that they might be saved? The authors of this book have the same desires and have written this book with these things in mind.  It is aimed at the unbeliever.  It might be the book you give to a friend to read or one you could read and discuss with them.

The book is set out by looking at the Apostles Creed and breaking down what each phrase used throughout it means. It’s a great way to dig deeply into what Christians believe and explains it in a way that anyone can understand.  What does it mean that Jesus was “Born of the virgin Mary”, “Suffered under Pontius Pilate”, or that “He will come again to judge the living and the dead”?

This book is a helpful tool to share with others you want to communicate the gospel to. The explanations are clear and not full of jargon, but also invite the reader to respond to what they have read.

This is a great book explaining what I believe in a way I can share with others, simply and clearly:

“Gloriously, Christianity isn’t a story about what must be done, but what has been done.  It is not the story of our path to God, but of God’s path to us. It is God who created, God who sent his Son, God who forgave our sins and bought us new life, and God who by his Spirit enables us to live for him.  We are invited simply to believe.  To believe is to trust, to entrust ourselves to the God who both made us and redeemed us.”
