Little Pilgrim’s Progress (Illustrated Edition): From John Bunyan’s Classic
Life is a journey and we are pilgrims on the road to God’s kingdom. When we were children, both Simon and I read an illustrated kids version of John Bunyan’s classic “Pilgrim’s Progress”. We both remember the relief when Christian’s burden falls off at the cross. It was a joy to share that with our own young kids through reading “Little Pilgrim’s Progress” with them.
This illustrated, large print (and large page) chapter book tells the story of little Christian and Christiana, two bunnies on a journey to meet their king in the Celestial City. It is an allegory of the Christian life, walking by faith through this world with eyes on the world to come.
The illustrations are gorgeous and the story grabs and holds kids’ attention. And don’t let the cute bunnies fool you; they make look cuddly, but they are brave! Now our kids are older, I’m keen to read it again so we can talk more about all its allusions and their implications for real life.
